Shared Imaging is looking for a Full Time, Human Resource Generalist in Streamwood, IL

The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management.  This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment and payroll.

Essential Functions:

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll, prepare general ledger journal and provide required reporting to various team members.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Initiate 90 day employee evaluations and age specific competency.
  • Monitors and maintains the performance evaluation program.
  • Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, verifying invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Processes all new hires, including background checks, drug screens licensure verification, past employment verification, education verification.
  • Verify or provide required certifications and screening: CPR certification, tuberculosis screening, hepatitis, Vericella, Rubella, Rubeola, Mumps, DOT physical, random drug screens and fingerprinting requirements.
  • Implement and monitor Initial and annual Health Stream training and competency evaluations: Ensure that all new hires complete the initial Health Stream evaluation within 30 days.
  • Assist in onboarding and training of all new employees.
  • Assists in recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, interns and temporary employees, and writes and places advertisements.
  • Maintains company, organization charts and the employee directory.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Maintains human resource information systems, records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Process employee separations.
  • Process and maintain all COBRA participants
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

The ideal candidate must possess:

  • A bachelor's degree and three to five years' human resource experience, or a master's degree in human resource management and one to two years' experience in the HR field.
